Summer days

Our friend Teresa took all of these nice photographs today!  Make sure you visit my friend Millie at her blogs, A Goat's View of Eden Hills.

It's been a very warm and dry summer.  My lady is worried about her water cistern going dry (we have no well) and hay for us.

I need a LOT of hay (burp).  We go through 2 bales a day minimum and get new hay every three weeks.  We are worried that our hay man will run out of hay, because the hay isn't growing in the field.

Durin would like to be let out of the paddock and pasture.  My lady has 46 acres of land but needs safe fencing for us to go browse.  There are too many things that could get us if we were to be loose.

Nigel and Nozzy  play, play play!  Good thing...because they are a little plump.  Tee hee.

Gimli watched Teresa the whole time she was at the farm.  He wasn't sure if maybe she was a doctor and wanted to stick him with something.  She told him she wasn't a doctor but he still wouldn't come too close.

Water is very precious.  Our cistern is not very deep and relies on water trickling in from springs.  We barn critters drink up to 45 gallons a day when it's really warm and hot.  Nozzy doesn't help with the water because he's ALWAYS sticking his dirty feet into it.  Then we won't drink it and my lady has to dump it out.

Number is wishing for a peppermint!  Did you know that some people call descendents of Number's grandfather ugly and mean?  They do.  His grandfather was Seattle Slew, the famous race horse!  My lady has always liked the "Slew" horses.  She hasn't found them ugly or mean at all.  Number is very sweet-tempered and good looking.

We like this photo of Nigel.  It makes him look mysterious and romantic.  He's not.  He's goofy and silly.

Here are Durin, Dayel and Gimli with the table.  We need a new table! Come on lady!  New table!

That's life around our little farm on a warm summer's day.  Kind of ho hum, eh?  My lady says ho hum is just what she wants.  No excitement because that normally means V.E.T.

My lady says that our new little friend Oliver the Jacob Sheep might be arriving soon!  That will be something exciting that doesn't involve the V. E. T.  Tee hee.

It really has been a hot summer. We hope you don't run out of food and water because that would be horrible!
